During this month’s meeting, we welcomed one new member, Kayla Canady, Accounting Manager at Peach State Air Conditioning, LLC.  There was no member spotlight this month.

Our 2019 Board was introduced:

Our scheduled programming topic was PWS Membership Evaluation Working Lunch.  We discussed our strengths and opportunities:
Strengths:  Networking, diversity, empowering each other, being inviting, recognizing members for achievements, content, organized as a group, and members are committed to the organization.

Opportunities: Attendance/reaching out to our members, more diverse professions, info sheet for new members listing resources, more hands on/interactive programs.

Upcoming programs:  Wednesday, February 20, “Strategies for buffering stereotype threat and imposter syndrome” by Drs. Amy Hackney (Professor of Psychology) and Tracy Linderholm (Professor of Educational Psychology). .
Valerie Thompson, treasurer, gave the Treasurer’s Report, reminding everyone that dues need to be paid by the February meeting in order to qualify for the paid in full discount.
