The February meeting of Professional Women of Statesboro met on Wednesday, February 15th at the Holiday Inn.
During this month’s meeting, we welcomed eight guests and one new member, Krisha Craven Phillips of Krisha Craven Photography.
Our scheduled speaker was unable to attend due to illness, so America Minc and Mindy Fair presented about health and wellness. Here are tidbits from their presentation:
- Snacking makes up 25% of total daily calories.
- Go for the protein and fiber!
- Try greek yogurt over regular; almond butter over peanut butter (just say no to JIF!).
- Women need about 25g of fiber per day.
- HIIT (high intensive interval training) is the way to go – do 30 minutes, three times per week. Use the TABATA app to help keep track of time. Use a deck of cards with each suit being one activity and each time it’s time to change, flip over a card and do that activity.
Our February raffle was 2 tickets to the United Way’s Tasting of Statesboro.
